Rooster and the hateful Hens

A short, funny Bullet-Hell Game

About

Rooster and the hateful Hens is a wave-based Bullet-Hell Game made for Bullet Hell Jam 5 within a week.

The Player takes control over a Rooster and needs to avoid Eggs that are being launched by angry Hens, Foxes trying to get a little Snack and more.

Featuring 10 unique Waves with increasing difficulty, as well as hilarious Sound Effects and a unique Theme.

How to Play

The mechanics are simple.

You move the Rooster with W A S D and you make the Rooster yell by pressing Space, defending any incoming Eggs and launching nearby Hens into the Sky.

Every once in a while, the Farmer checks up on you and leaves some Bread, restoring your Health when eaten.

Note

This Games creation was rushed within a week, a good chunk of the Game is polished to a certain degree, but there are some portions still being pretty raw.

There are 2-3 known Bugs which small frequency didn't justify spending time on fixing them instead of adding Contrent into the Game itself, for example

  • Foxes sometimes get stuck when leaving the Gameplay Area
  • Very rarely, the spawning breaks after Wave 9, i tried to investigate this problem but couldn't figure out why it's even happening or how to resolve it.

I am a Programmer, I may have some soft-skills in designing things, but I am by no means a Digital Artist, meaning that 90% of 3D Models, Textures, Sound Effects and similar are subject to Third Party Licensing.

A full-blown ThirdPartyAttributes.txt can be found within the downloadable ZIP-Archive, and this Game wouldn't have been possible to create within such short timeframe without those awesome resources used.

A Linux Build is available, but it's untested since i'm on a Windows Machine!

Enjoy the Game!

(But don't get roosted...)
